We are a small kennel located in central Maine. The primary focus of Battle Hill is to provide quality, well trained bird dogs for the upland hunter. Most of the dogs we sell also double as the family pet and companion.

We offer English Setters, English Pointers, German Shorthair Pointers, and Brittany Spaniels. Our knowledge obtained after 38 years hunting, field trialing, and training allows us to choose pups from the very best litters in the country. Birch Hill Britanies, Burning Edge and Long Gone Setters, Yellow Rose and Elhew Pointers, Celtic Irish Setters are just a few of the names that appear in our dogs pedigree.

These dogs are trained over several hundred acres of land groomed exclusively for the development of class gundogs. From fallow farmland reminiscent of South Dakota CRP plots, to chopped corn and grass pastures, to quintessential New England Grouse and Woodcock coverts Battle Hill dogs are exposed to all types of cover and terrain. Grouse finds are regular and native Woodcock are in abundance. We augment the wild birds by pre-releasing quail, chukars, and pheasants. Food plots and feeders keep them on the grounds, so that the dogs have plenty of "semi-wild" birds to work.
